Hey mate, your wheel’s going round

This is a song about climbing Monk Street in Aberdare and then going on over to Maerdy. The song’s original title is “Hey butt, your wheel’s going round”, so this is the English version. The positive ending comes because the first time I did this climb a man at the top congratulated me, not the usual reaction to bicycles and their riders in this area.

I know you’re my brother

This song has been around a bit longer than the current interest in left wing politics and the Labour Party, but could equally have been written in response to it.
