This is a song about riding up Monk Street in Aberdare and up and over to Maerdy in the neighbouring Rhonnda valley. I find it quite hard work, especially as I’m approaching 90 years old now, and the locals are not always known for their encouragement of cyclists, hence the title of the song. A big thank you to Dick (Richard Owen)who has played drums on all my latest recordings and who just happens to live in Blaenllechau in the aforementioned Rhonnda valley.
